SunExpress Deutschland GmbH

SunExpress Germany was founded as a limited liability company on June 8, 2011 as a subsidiary of SunExpress and started flight operations with three Boeing B737s. It was founded in order to be able to fly to the Red Sea from there with the help of the German AOC (Airline Operator Certificate). These routes were operated for the first time on November 2, 2011. In July 2013, two more 737-800s were added to the fleet, which were stationed at Cologne / Bonn Airport. In spring 2012, the Kelsterbach headquarters were moved to the Gateway Gardens. SunExpress operated 13 Boeing B737-800 and 7 Airbus A330 in 2020. The Airbus fleet was part of the Eurowings long-haul offer. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a sharp drop in booking demand. The last flight of SunExpress Germany took place on June 26, 2020. The owners Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa have decided to orderly insolvency of the company. We as interpersonal greatly regret this step and will miss the team of SunExpress colleagues.
