Germania: All 1,700 employees receive dismissal

Germania Staff

The attempt to rescue the insolvent airline Germania has failed. According to the provisional insolvency administrator Rüdiger Wienberg, all serious bidders have backed out and thus grounding can no longer be prevented. "The employees will now receive their dismissals within the next few days and will also be exempt from work at the beginning of April", the announcement continued.

According to the insolvency administrator, the almost 30 machines with which Germania operated are all leased out. Only the take-off and landing rights at the airports are lucrative. For example, the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings showed interest in the slots at Düsseldorf Airport immediately after the Germania bankruptcy.
