DHL Air Austria received its AOC from the competent Austrian aviation authority Austro Control yesterday in record time! A huge success for the DHL management team around Cpt. Stefan Lochte and certainly a deserved occasion for a small ceremonial welcome of the new B757F aircraft.
This clears the way for the airline to commence operations as planned at the beginning of December 2021. The new airline is focused on the European market and will maintain bases in Vienna and Leipzig. The company will take over a fleet of Boeing 757F freighters from DHL Air UK and will also employ most of the pilots from its British sister airline.
With the establishment of DHL Air Austria, DHL Express will have a stake in a total of 10 airlines in an air freight network spanning the globe, in addition to DHL EAT in Leipzig. On its successful growth course, DHL Express has been able to create many valuable and secure jobs for pilots at DHL EAT over the past 10 years.
